Pasture raised means just that; the animals were raised on grass. This brings out the “cowness” of the cow and the “chickeness” of the chicken. Let them eat bugs, worms, grass, and seeds in the pasture. They fertilize and aerate the ground as an added bonus for increased pasture health. This is regenerative farming at its best.

The cattle are moved daily, yes, every day, to another paddock of the pasture. This allows them fresh grass daily which increases nutrition levels while improving sanitation and decreasing pests and disease. Another component of regenerative practices.

Nothing, zilch, zero….. well that’s misleading. We add dirt from our composting pile which has hay, manure, animal leftovers, and garden leftovers that have broken down over time to a beautiful, black, vibrant soil. We also add wood chips to retain moisture and minimize unwanted weed activity. This helps forego using herbicides and reduces the amount of irrigation needed. We get happy plants and healthy food!
